renewed interest in transhuman(ism) triviaball

Does Pando creep out anyone else?

It's obvious, duh, he's a mutant, like in X-Men

I am the very model of a Singularitarian

I'm all about animal sentience/intelligence these days, and these little Aussie spiders are right up in that (also a tiny bit fae seeming, I'd say)

Reminds me, potentially, of the serafinas in MacDonald's Terminal Cafe; slash, this is Second Life we're talking about, when will they start having cybersex?

Well what normal would want to cyber with an AI that has the mind of a 4 year old?

And if the ice man's power lies in his brain not shutting his body down when he gets cold would that be an instance of the conscious mind actually being smarter than the subconscious?

To the first question, I think we can all imagine what kind of person would want that, and it is gross. They have maps saying where people like that live, for the general public.

For the second, I'll posit rather that he's got some unique subtle-body thing going on, in the pranic vayu if one wants to get specific - say, like the famous yogi who could easily make half of his hand several degrees warmer or colder than the other half, which he explained as a function of that vayu.
